About this timber

C24 strength graded timber, 47 x 150mm in 4.8m lengths, stronger and stiffer than C16 with fewer knots allowed. Engineers specify it for floor joists, roof purlins and rafters where spans push C16 to its limit or deflection must be kept low.

C24 lets you use a smaller section or wider centres for the same load, which can save money overall. Every piece carries a grading stamp for building control. It is kiln dried and untreated, so protect it from weather on site and treat any cut ends exposed to damp.
