About this timber
Pressure treated 47 x 75mm C16 timber in 4.8m lengths, impregnated with a copper-based preservative to Use Class 3 for outdoor use above ground. The green tinge fades to brown over time. Common uses are sole plates, garden structures, fence rails and shed framing.
Brush end grain preservative onto every cut end, as the treatment does not reach the centre of the section. It is not for ground contact; use Use Class 4 posts for that. Choose galvanised or stainless fixings, since copper preservatives corrode plain steel.
