About this board

Plain 18mm P2 chipboard from Kronospan, made in Chirk with fine surface layers over a coarser core. It is the standard carcass board in furniture making, cheaper than MDF and lighter per sheet, ready to laminate, veneer or paint after priming.

Shelving, worktop cores, cupboard sides and temporary staging are typical uses. Screws need chipboard fixings and should stay 50mm from ends to avoid blowing out the edge. P2 is a dry interior board, so it is no good for floors, bathrooms or anywhere damp.
