About this board

EGGER Protect is a 22mm P5 chipboard floor with a water-repellent coating on the top face that shields it from rain, mud and trades while the building is still open. Tongue and groove on four sides, 2400 x 600, made by Egger in the UK.

The coated face can stay as the finished subfloor under carpet or vinyl and cuts down on temporary protection boards. It costs more than plain P5 but saves replacing swollen panels after a wet spell. Glue joints and fix at 300mm centres, as with any chipboard floor.
