About this board
Gyproc standard plasterboard, 12.5mm thick in 2400 x 1200 sheets with tapered long edges. It is the everyday board for stud walls and ceilings in British houses, with an ivory paper face designed to be taped and jointed or skimmed with plaster.
Fix with drywall screws at 300mm centres to studs or joists at 600mm maximum. Each board weighs about 25kg, so a board lifter saves time on ceilings. Not for shower areas or rooms with constant high humidity; choose the moisture resistant board there.
