About this board
Valchromat from Portugal is a through-coloured, moisture resistant fibreboard, made from wood fibres dyed with organic colourants and bonded with resins that give it more strength than standard MDF. This grey sheet is 19mm thick in the 2440 x 1830 format.
Machined edges show the same grey as the face, so pieces can be left unpainted and finished with oil or wax. It routs and engraves crisply and holds screws better than standard MDF. Special order, usually within three to five working days, with some colour variation between batches.
