About this board
Designed to go over timber subfloors, this 6mm cement tile backer stops the cracked tiles and grout caused by movement in the boards below. The sheet is 1200 x 800, cement cored with glass fibre mesh faces, and new to our range this season.
Bed it in flexible tile adhesive on the subfloor and screw at 200mm centres, staggering the joints. The subfloor itself must be stiff: 6mm backer spreads loads but does not fix a bouncy floor. Tape joints before tiling, and use a flexible adhesive throughout.
