About this board
Quarter cut oak veneer sheet, 0.6mm, spliced to 2500 x 1250. Cutting across the growth rings gives a straight, striped grain with silvery medullary ray fleck, a calmer and more contemporary look than crown cut oak.
Its straight grain makes it easier to match across doors and drawer fronts on a run of furniture. Press with a vacuum bag or hot press and veneer both faces of the panel. Finish with hardwax oil, lacquer or a liming wax to bring out the ray fleck.
