About this board
American black walnut veneer, crown cut and spliced to a 2500 x 1250 sheet at 0.6mm. The heartwood ranges from chocolate brown to purple-grey, with some sapwood allowed, and darkens richly under oil. Most furniture makers reach for it when a dark, high-end finish is wanted.
The current bundle is on offer, and buying a job lot together keeps colour consistent across sheets. Lay with a urea or PVA glue in a vacuum press. Avoid coarse abrasives, and test finishes on an offcut first.
